Story & Leadership
A research-led team built around field deployment realities

Founded to address an unmet need
Antigenika brings together healthcare innovators, scientists and researchers united by a common goal: to address the fundamental limitations of traditional snakebite treatment. Despite decades of use, antivenom remains constrained by access, infrastructure requirements and limited effectiveness, leaving millions without timely care.
Originating from research at the University of Reading, our team combines expertise in venom biology, drug development and translational science. By focusing on oral, small-molecule therapeutics, we aim to deliver a solution that can be used rapidly, outside of traditional clinical settings, and at scale across the regions most affected.

Our mission is clear...
To develop treatments that not only save lives, but also prevent the long-term disabilities that current approaches often fail to address.

Research Roots
Two decades of venom pharmacology and biochemistry research at University of Reading

Translational Focus
Built around field deployment realities: heat-stability, oral administration, broad-spectrum coverage

Global Reach
Development designed for high-burden markets first, scaling through regulatory pathways
Led by Passionate Professionals
Advisors
Our partners
Originating from research at the University of Reading, Antigenika builds on a strong scientific foundation to advance a new approach to snakebite treatment, one designed to overcome the barriers of current care and enable earlier, effective intervention.
